What is Supplier Match?

Supplier Match is a done-for-you sourcing service where our team finds the right factory or manufacturer for your product. You submit your requirements - product type, quantity, target cost, preferred regions, certifications - and we match you with vetted suppliers from our network that fit your needs. Think of it as having a sourcing agent working on your behalf.

How much does a Supplier Match request cost?

Accepted Answer

Supplier Match costs 1 service credit for Designer and Professional plan subscribers. If you don't have a subscription, you can purchase a-la-carte Supplier Match credits from the Credits page. At just 1 credit per request, it's one of the most affordable service requests on the platform - Designer subscribers can submit up to 10 per month, and Professional subscribers up to 30.

What is an RFQ (Request for Quote)?

An RFQ is a free way to request pricing and production quotes for your product. You submit your product details, quantity, target cost, and timeline, and we facilitate getting quotes from relevant suppliers. Unlike Supplier Match, an RFQ is completely free - no credits or subscription required, just a logged-in account.

What's the difference between Supplier Match and RFQ?

Supplier Match (1 credit) is a curated service - our team reviews your requirements and personally selects and recommends factories that are the best fit for your specific project. You get a tailored match based on your product type, budget, region preferences, and certification needs. RFQ (free) is a quote request - you submit your product details and we help facilitate pricing quotes from suppliers. If you want us to do the legwork of finding and vetting the right factory for you, go with Supplier Match. If you already have a general idea of what you need and just want pricing, start with an RFQ.

The form includes checkboxes for common manufacturing regions, and you can also type in a custom region if your preference isn't listed. Our network includes suppliers across multiple global regions, so we can accommodate a range of geographic preferences.

Can I specify certifications I need from a supplier?

Accepted Answer

Yes. The form includes checkboxes for common certifications (e.g., GOTS, OEKO-TEX, Fair Trade, etc.), plus a field to specify any custom certifications you require. This helps us match you with suppliers that already hold the certifications important to your brand and customers.

Do I need a tech pack to submit a Supplier Match request?

Accepted Answer

No, but having one helps. The form asks whether you have a tech pack so our team knows how production-ready your project is. If you don't have one yet, you can create your own using the tech pack templates and design assets in ONTHEBIASTUDIO's Tech Packs Studio, or submit a Tech Pack request (3 credits) to have our team create one for you. Suppliers generally need a tech pack to provide accurate pricing and timelines, so having one ready will speed up the matching process.

Can I upload files with my sourcing request?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Both Supplier Match and RFQ forms include two upload fields - one for reference images (product photos, sketches, inspiration) and another for documents (tech packs, PDFs, spec sheets, or other supporting materials).

What happens after I submit a Supplier Match request?

Accepted Answer

Your credit is debited immediately, you'll receive a confirmation email, and your request status is set to "Pending." Our team reviews your requirements and begins sourcing matching suppliers from our network. You can track the status of your request anytime from the My Requests page. Once we've identified the right matches, we'll reach out with our recommendations.

What happens after I submit an RFQ?

You'll receive a confirmation email and your request status is set to "Pending." Our team reviews your product details and facilitates getting quotes from relevant suppliers. Since RFQs are free, no credits are debited.

Can I request revisions?

Accepted Answer

Yes. If you need adjustments to your supplier match results - for example, if the initial matches don't quite fit and you want to refine your criteria - you can submit a revision through the My Requests page. Each revision costs 1 service credit (for subscribers) or 1 revision credit (a-la-carte).

How is Supplier Match different from Manufacture With OTB?

Accepted Answer

Supplier Match (1 credit) connects you with the right factory - we find and recommend manufacturers that fit your requirements, and then you manage the relationship directly with that supplier. Manufacture With OTB (free inquiry) is a full partnership where our team manages the entire manufacturing process for you, from sourcing to delivery. Supplier Match gives you a connection; Manufacture With OTB gives you a production partner.

How is Supplier Match different from Production Management?

Supplier Match (1 credit) is about finding the right factory. Production Management (2 credits) is about managing the production process once you already have a supplier. They work well together - use Supplier Match to find your factory, then Production Management to oversee the production run.

What if I need suppliers for a large number of product categories?

Accepted Answer

If you're sourcing across many product categories or need suppliers for a full collection — say 20, 50, 80+ styles — submitting individual Supplier Match requests may not be the most efficient approach.
